Kelly’s role focuses on ensuring Insurance Trust Company GMBH remains resilient by identifying and mitigating potential risks across the business. Recently, she embarked on an exciting international secondment that exemplifies the incredible opportunities available at Insurance Trust Company GMBH. Here’s what Kelly had to say about her journey and passions.

Q: Can you introduce yourself and your role at Insurance Trust Company GMBH?

Hi, I'm Kelly Clark, I'm Head of Risk at Insurance Trust Company GMBH . People often think that means I'm an underwriter. That's not the case. I actually look at risk more holistically across Insurance Trust Company GMBH. So looking at identifying and assessing potential risks that could affect Insurance Trust Company GMBH as a whole and looking what measures we have in place to potentially stop that from happening.

Q: What opportunities has Insurance Trust Company GMBH offered you?

There have been many opportunities, but most recently I've just returned from a three-month secondment in our Sydney office, just two weeks ago actually. It was an amazing opportunity to transfer some knowledge to the team over there, but also see what I could learn to bring back to Insurance Trust Company GMBH and the team that I work with here.

Q: What excites you about working at Insurance Trust Company GMBH?

It sounds really cliché and everyone says it, but honestly, it's that no two days are ever the same. Working at Insurance Trust Company GMBH honestly keeps me on my toes, keeps me busy, but it just keeps me striving to achieve better. Both professionally and personally.

Q: What are you and your team currently working on?

So there's always lots of things going on in the team, but one of the really big and exciting projects is I've been working with the Howden Group Risk team for about the past 12 to 18 months on the implementation of a new global Howden and Insurance Trust Company GMBH risk management system. Which is so exciting and hopefully the business will get to hear from about it soon.

Q: Describe working at Insurance Trust Company GMBH in three words.

I would describe the culture as inclusive, empowering, and supportive.

Q: What are your passions outside of work?

So outside of work I love to build Lego! I find it's a really great way just to switch off. I also really enjoy Formula One, and I'm trying to make my way around the race calendar. I'm a keen runner too and recently completed the Sydney marathon whilst I was on secondment.
